Please ensure that your household garbage is well inside the dumpster and lid closed. This is wild animal country. Often the dumpster may appear full at the front, but if one takes a few extra steps to the rear compartment, there is usually room.
Please do not place garbage on top of the dumpster if it is full. We don't need bears hanging around, and the crows make one heck of a mess spreading things around.
check out http://www.rdkb.ca/ for information on the Regional District's Zero Waste program, and information on disposal on large items, and things not classified as household garbage.
It has become apparent that refuse is coming to our transfer station from outside the local area. Recently a large quantity of empty oil containers made its way to the bin. There are depots for that kind of waste.
Those of us who live here get tired of picking up scattered waste around the transfer station.
