Water Wisdom:

The village is fed by gravity from the water storage reservoir, but water is pumped from the wells to the treatment facility, and from the treatment facility to the reservoir.

Reducing water used saves pumping costs, and reduces volume in the sewage treatment facility.

I agree with the suggestion, brought forward by a neighbour, that  encouraging Baldy cabin owners to replace toilets with low volume flushers is a wise move.

Wood Stove Efficiency:

Check out the RDKB website for incentives for replacing your old wood stove with a cleaner burning one.

Garbage and Recyling:

At the garbage transfer station, walk a couple more steps along the platform and put your household garbage in a back section where it fits, rather than trying to cram it in at the front, and leaving the lid open for birds and animals.

The dumpster is for "household garbage". Check RDKB website for disposal sites for large items.
There are businesses in town that take fluorescent bulbs, batteries, used oil, and other recyclable items.
